The Monopol Bacchus Corkscrew is a double-spindle, precision-machined corkscrew…and an engineering marvel.
Patented in 1842 by Edwin Cotterill, the Monopol Bacchus Corkscrew features a double-spindle engineering design that allows a bottle of wine to be uncorked and the cork released with a simple twist. Made in Germany by Monopol, the die cast zinc worm is hardened, ground, and finely polished to a satin finish. It is easily able to penetrate any cork. Most components of the Bacchus are artfully hand-crafted. Like all Monopol barware, the Bacchus is manually handled several times, controlled, ground, re-finished, and more, until a perfect product has emerged. The Bacchus measures 6″ in length and weighs 9 oz. It will withstand a lifetime or more of wine openings. For further information about Monopol products, visit Monopol online.
