The Messermeister Professional Chef Knife is the flagship of fine German cutlery.
The Messermeister Professional Chef Knife is a product of a German knife manufacturing family that dates back to 1864. The chef knife is a forged knife with a Rockwell hardness number of 56. Messermeister knives are crafted using an alloy of metals that increase hardness, resist corrosion, and prevent brittleness. These properties, and tempering the blade to a Rockwell hardness of 56-58, maintain edge sharpness and wear resistance.
The Messermeister Chef Knife is part of the Elite collection, meaning that the blade, bolster, and tang are one piece and hammer forged from a single billet of the finest German steel alloy. The blade has a polished spine and a bolsterless edge, so that the entire edge can be sharpened. It is cambered and extra wide, making this knife the perfect tool for chopping, mincing, and trimming vegetables, fish, and meat. All in all, there is no finer cutlery than this chef knife.
Packaged in a gift box, the professional chef knife is etched with the La Belle Cuisine-Fine Cookware logo, our seal of approval. After use, the knife should be hand-washed and dried. We advise never to put good cutlery in the dishwasher. Although a protective sheath is included with purchase, we recommend storing knives in a special rack.
